The new academic year 2021-2022 opened on September 3^rdfor all students of Shanghai University, including those of UTSEUS.

According to the custom, the new 1^styear Bachelor and 1^styear Master students of UTSEUS were gathered, to start getting acquainted with the new environment in a welcome ceremony.

The directors and professors of UTSEUS presented the organization of the program and studies, while giving some advice for academic success. Student representatives greeted their fellow students and shared some of their first experiences.

What is new this year was the arrival at UTSEUS of the first class of students enrolled in UTSEUS Master's program in the Mechatronics - or "CPS" specialty. With this program, developed jointly with the French universities of technology and accredited in 2020 by the Chinese Ministry of Education, students will be able to receive, mainly in Shanghai, a high-level scientific and technological education in a rapidly developing field, in connection with companies, in particular thanks to internships, an integral part of the curriculum.

This UTSEUS master's program is intended to be admitted by the French government, following the opinion of the French engineering accreditation commission (Commission des titres d'ingénieurs CTI), and will lead to the award of a national master's degree co-accredited by the universities of technology. UTSEUS will thus join the group of Franco-Chinese institutes that have implemented engineering education at the master's level.

This first group of Chinese master students should be joined in September 2022by their French fellow students from UTs recruited this year for the program.
